Canva turns the bundle into the product

On 21 Sep, Canva announced ProSuite, integrating Affinity, Cavalry, Flourish and Leonardo, with more than 100 new features. That followed reports on 10 Sep and 14 Sep of 100 upgrades to its Visual Suite and office-work tools. The message is no longer just creation. Canva is trying to make the surrounding work of presenting, publishing and team production feel native to its suite.

The operating work matched the launch posture. On 21 Sep, Canva launched a product page for academic posters and created 19 documentation pages for connecting AI tools to Canva, including ChatGPT and Claude, while removing 20 older documentation pages. On 17 Sep, new certificate transparency records pointed to product, designschool, learn and marketing subdomains, alongside multiple regional subdomains. On 18 Sep, 40 new Google ad creatives were observed, with the earliest first shown on 15 Sep.

The trust surface widened at the same time. On 11 Sep, two Canva Android App CVEs were published with CVSS scores of 9.6 and 8.8, both before version 2.376.0. On 18 Sep, two further CVEs named Canva, including CVE-2026-81546 with a CVSS score of 7.7 in Affinity by Canva before version 3.3.0. On 21 Sep, multiple articles also covered an activist disruption at a Canva AI event in London. The suite is expanding, and so is the scrutiny around it.

Miro enters the Bending Spoons era

Miro was the structural event of the fortnight. On 11 Sep, reports said Bending Spoons was acquiring Miro for $1.36 billion in cash, described as a 90 percent decrease from Miro's $17.5 billion valuation in 2022. On 15 Sep, multiple articles reported a definitive agreement at $1.355 billion, with legal advisers including Latham & Watkins and Goodwin. By 18 Sep, the deal was still drawing coverage, including reports that framed the acquisition as a major reset for collaboration software valuations.

The product and commercial surface did not freeze while the ownership story ran. On 18 Sep, Miro's plan copy changed: Business gained mentions of 4,700 plus shapes, Data tables and Engage activities, while separate Business line items for visualising processes and technical systems, data tables for roadmapping and Engage activities including polls were removed. Enterprise gained language around licences for enterprise scale and org-wide controls for integrations.

Miro also kept showing demand-side activity. On 11 Sep, it had posted 39 new job openings in the prior week, including 15 in engineering, 14 in sales, three in customer success, five in design and two in marketing. On 19 Sep, its customer surfaces added new logos for Proximie and CAVU, plus six customer wall entries including people from Red Hat and Tesco, while one Prudential Financial entry was removed. The acquisition is the headline, but the surrounding signals show a company still actively tending product, hiring and proof points.

Figma ships into public-market scrutiny

Figma's fortnight split cleanly between market scrutiny and developer execution. On 13 Sep, its Q2FY26 results were reported with revenue up 48 percent year-on-year to $370.1 million. The same day's coverage included its general counsel selling $2.8 million of stock, articles noting a 28 percent decline over eight consecutive days, and discussion of investment positions raised by firms including Engineers Gate Manager LP. On 17 Sep, further coverage discussed valuation and stock performance, including one article that said Figma's stock may be 11 percent overvalued despite strong cash-flow hopes.

The shipping signals were stronger than the tape suggested. On 13 Sep, weekly downloads for @figma/rest-api-spec rose from 214,679 to 328,113, and @figma/code-connect moved from version 2.0.0 to 2.0.1 on 10 Sep. On 16 Sep, Figma's total stars across top repositories increased from 3,815 to 4,682 and a new repository named sds appeared. On 20 Sep, total stars rose again from 4,682 to 4,925, while new repositories included rust-sdk-transport, rest-api-spec and widget-typings. Developer gravity is not a press release, but those movements are hard to dismiss.

Hiring points the same way. On 9 Sep, Figma listed 159 account executive postings focused on enterprise clients across locations including San Francisco, New York, Bengaluru, Berlin, Singapore and Paris. On 13 Sep, three more postings appeared for SMB and mid-market sales roles in London and São Paulo. On 16 Sep, 10 postings were listed across engineering and machine learning functions, alongside roles including Brand Design Intern and Manager, Recruiting, Corporate. Figma is being valued in public, but it is still building for enterprise distribution and platform depth.

Framer trims the AI label, Sketch keeps polishing

Framer's most revealing change was a single missing word. On 19 Sep, its homepage hero moved from 'Framer is the AI design agent for every step from idea to launch' to 'Framer is the design agent for every step from idea to launch'. That was not a retreat from product activity. On 18 Sep, Framer had 40 new Google ad creatives running, with the earliest first shown on 11 Sep. On the same date, it released version 0.0.45 of @framer/agent, and weekly downloads for @framer/plugin rose 45 percent from 1,735 to 2,520.

The education and content estate also moved. On 16 Sep, Framer introduced 21 product pages focused on platform lessons and removed 31 older academy course pages, while adding a blog page about firewall use. On 20 Sep, it introduced a product page for its cookie statement and removed 19 blog pages related to design topics and challenges. The pattern is a clean-up around conversion, trust and structured learning, not a week of loud feature launches.

Sketch was quieter, but not still. On 16 Sep, Sketch released update 2026.3.1, building on the Florence release with enhancements for macOS 27 Golden Gate, minor improvements and bug fixes including document window corner radius and toolbar tooltip fixes. The same day, Sketch created a new GitHub repository called yoga, while total stars across its top repositories remained at 192. In a week dominated by M&A and suite packaging, Sketch looked like the steady maintenance player.

The quiet tells were in the shelves

The most useful signal this fortnight was not one launch. It was the choreography of content, pricing and ads across the category. On 17 Sep, Figma added three blog pages and 25 product pages focused on AI-related design tools and resources, while removing seven customer case study pages and 22 product pages. On 19 Sep, Miro added nine blog pages and 14 product pages, largely around user terms and two-factor authentication, while removing 23 blog pages. On 16 Sep and 20 Sep, Framer removed 31 academy course pages and 19 blog pages. Canva swapped help content on 14 Sep, 17 Sep and 21 Sep across cookies, analytics, social scheduling, vector illustration and AI-tool connection topics.

The sequencing matters. Framer's 40 ads were first shown from 11 Sep, observed on 18 Sep, and its homepage dropped the explicit AI label on 19 Sep. Canva's AI-connection documentation landed on 21 Sep alongside ProSuite coverage, after security disclosures on 11 Sep and 18 Sep. Miro's pricing copy changed on 18 Sep, after acquisition reports on 11 Sep and 15 Sep, and just before customer proof surfaces changed on 19 Sep. These are not keynote items. They are the small public moves that show how positioning is being reset before the next sales conversation.

The takeaway

This was not a quiet fortnight. Canva pushed the broadest suite move with ProSuite on 21 Sep, but did so while new CVEs and AI-event disruption expanded the trust conversation. Miro reset the collaboration market's valuation frame with the Bending Spoons deal reported from 11 Sep, then changed plan language on 18 Sep. Figma absorbed public-market scrutiny while developer downloads, repositories and hiring kept moving. Framer softened its explicit AI wording on 19 Sep after ads and package activity, while Sketch stayed in maintenance mode. The market is being remade less by one feature race than by packaging, trust, developer surfaces and the small public edits that reveal where each vendor wants the next buyer conversation to go.
