The takeaway

The category is moving from code generation to full-stack agent operations. Replit bought Atta and was reported to have raised $400m, Lovable was reported above $600m annual run-rate revenue and made an acquisition, GitHub kept shipping gh-aw and Copilot workflow infrastructure, Cursor rewrote its market surface around AI teammates, and Vercel pushed AI Gateway, product pages and agent production proof. The counterweight is security and reliability: credential exposure reports, a Vercel zero-day, a Next.js CVE and multiple service incidents show that enterprise trust is now the main battleground.

The land grab moved below the prompt

This was not a fortnight about better autocomplete. On 29 Sep, Replit's acquisition of Atta, an AI analytics startup based in Egypt, was reported by multiple sources, with no deal value disclosed. The same transaction kept resurfacing through 5 Oct, described as a move to bring AI business analysis into Replit's build platform. On 2 Oct and 3 Oct, separate reports also said Replit had raised $400m, alongside the framing of coding shifting from an editor to an agent.

Lovable made its own inorganic move on 2 Oct, acquiring Tomáš Halgaš's startup, also without a disclosed value. That came after reports on 29 Sep and 1 Oct that Lovable had passed a $600m annual run-rate revenue, with coverage linking the growth to enterprise adoption and vibe coding. The lesson is simple: the winners are buying or building the parts that make agent-created software more useful after generation, namely analytics, deployment, security and distribution.

GitHub's activity pointed in the same direction from the infrastructure side. It released gh-aw 0.90.0 on 29 Sep, 0.90.1 on 1 Oct and 0.90.3 on 3 Oct, adding workflow observability, ledger support, a work queue and broader Copilot model support. It also launched new repositories across the period, including Copilot training and workshop assets on 2 Oct and ten GitHub Next repositories on 5 Oct. GitHub is treating agent workflows as a system to operate, not a feature to demo.

Demand generation hit the ceiling

The paid acquisition tape was loud. Lovable showed 40 new Google ad creatives on 29 Sep, again 40 on 2 Oct and 3 Oct, and 29 new creatives on 1 Oct and 5 Oct, with 40 creatives running. Vercel showed 10 new creatives on 29 Sep, 23 on 1 Oct and smaller refreshes on 3 Oct and 5 Oct, also with 40 creatives running. Replit was steadier, with 3 new creatives on 29 Sep, 4 on 2 Oct, 7 on 3 Oct and 9 on 5 Oct, again with 40 running.

That symmetry matters. Three vendors were not merely launching features in the same fortnight. They were keeping paid-market shelves stocked at the same apparent capacity while changing product surfaces underneath. Lovable paired the ad burst with security and builder content changes on 30 Sep. Replit paired it with new pages for an AI website builder, LinkedIn partnership content and customer stories on 2 Oct. Vercel paired it with AI Gateway updates on 2 Oct and a Rogo case study on 4 Oct.

Customer proof also accelerated. GitHub added Grupo Boticário and Trimble logos on 29 Sep, then added four GitHub Team case studies on 1 Oct for Netdata, Peak Money, Front and Modsy. Replit added Noni and two case studies on 2 Oct, including Bamboo Classroom and a media company savings story. Vercel added Rogo on 4 Oct with a case study about shipping agent-written code to production in five minutes. The market is selling trust, not novelty.

The quiet signal was page churn

The most useful movement was not in press releases. It was in the sequencing of website and product changes. Cursor changed a homepage section heading on 29 Sep from "Automate repetitive work" to "Hand work to AI teammates". It then added 68 product pages and removed 71 on 30 Sep, added 25 product pages and two API documentation pages while removing 27 on 1 Oct, and added 101 product pages while removing 101 on 2 Oct. On 4 Oct, it introduced three more skills-focused pages and removed three forum discussion pages.

That is a repositioning programme, not a copy edit. It coincided with Cursor SDK bridge releases v1.0.34 on 29 Sep and v1.0.35 on 1 Oct, including standalone executables and a stable SDK proto contract available on npm and PyPI. It also coincided with job openings on 30 Sep across South Korea, Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia, then further engineering and sales roles on 2 Oct across enterprise, healthcare, SLED and federal sales.

Vercel showed a similar pattern. It added product pages for dub, fly, kit and quo on 30 Sep, e2b and vat on 3 Oct, and Hex on 4 Oct, while removing pages including specific templates, authentication material and Eve Personal Agent. Replit changed its website navigation on 1 Oct, replacing visible calls to action such as "Start for free", "Join Replit Core" and "Join Replit Pro" with new section headings for Product and Resources. If you waited for a single launch announcement, you missed the market moving in pieces.

Security became the distribution tax

The same fortnight showed why agent platforms are being forced to harden faster. On 30 Sep, reports said more than 543,000 valid credentials were exposed in public GitHub repositories, and another report said AI coding agents leaked 13,000 internal images, including billing records, to public GitHub repositories. Similar GitHub security coverage continued on 2 Oct and 5 Oct, including reports of 500,000 active credentials exposed and leaked corporate screenshots.

Vercel had its own security week. On 3 Oct, CVE-2026-94543 was published for Next.js versions 15.0.0 to 15.5.27 and 16.3.8, affecting self-hosted applications using the Pages Router with static generation, with no CVSS score assigned at the time observed. On 5 Oct, Vercel confirmed a KVM zero-day related to VM escape and announced a $50,000 bounty for the researcher who reported it.

Operational reliability also stayed in view. Vercel experienced minor build failures and 500 errors related to Edge runtime functions on 28 Sep. GitHub had a critical Copilot Code Review incident on 29 Sep lasting about 52 minutes, then three minor incidents on 2 Oct involving Actions delays, elevated request latency and workflow run failures. Cursor reported three service degradation incidents on 30 Sep, including a major xAI models incident of about 35 minutes, and another minor incident on 4 Oct affecting Grok Bot and Review Agents for about 36 minutes. These are normal growing pains for infrastructure markets, but they are now happening under enterprise scrutiny.
